Marcos Llorente has revealed that he fast before going to training. The Atlético Madrid midfielder spoke about this practice’s reasons and the benefits he has found through his experience. “I feel perfect in terms of my energy, and I don’t need to eat breakfast before going to train,” he told Carlos Perez. “I can move well without eating anything. When I had breakfast before going to train, I was doing it without my body asking for it. Since I started listening to my body, my performance has been excellent”. Llorente said he started fasting before training while on loan at Alaves. “My father practised it, but I still didn’t believe much in it,” he said.

“It was not difficult to make this change because on many days. And I was not hungry when I woke up. I didn’t notice anything in terms of the intensity level with the team, and so I kept doing it”. Carlos Perez, also the co-author of ‘The Intermittent Fast’, explained its benefits. “There is scientific evidence that intermittent fasting, personalized for every situation and person, improves the immune system and therefore has very positive consequences for elite athletes like Llorente,” he said. Marcos Llorente has been a client of Regenera Elite for a year and a half. And he pointed to the impact of their work on his performance. “I am sure that Regenera will take on the part of the loan for everything that has happened to me over the past year,” he smiled.
