When Marcus Stoinis bats like Marcus Stoinis, hardly there is way to escape for any bowler. It was a bad day for Chris Jordan who came under his radar on a humid evening in Lucknow.

Marcus Stoinis guided Lucknow Super Giants to a much needed win against a big side like Mumbai Indians, so there will be a definite confidence in the team despite the absence of full time skipper KL Rahul.

Rahul will be quite proud watching big Stoin flexing his muscles and lifting LSG to commanding win against one of the best teams of the tournament.

When Marcus Stoinis came to bat, Lucknow Super Giants were struggling at 37/3 after 6 overs. De Kock, Hooda and Mankad were already out and captain Krunal was holding the other end.

The pitch looked tough one to bat on but from the moment, Stoinis entered, he started to accelerate slowly and waiting for that big which he ultimately got in the 19th over when he bashed Chris Jordan for 26 runs.

At one stage, it didn’t look like that LSG will even go past 150 but the kind of power Stoinis, they went well beyond that and posted a winning score. For his 49 balls 87, Stoinis was awarded Player of the match.

Mohsin Khan Does The Job

Everyone knew that Mohsin has all the ability to give a match winning performance. On Monday, one over was enough to prove his cause for the team as he defended 11 runs in the final over against Tim David and Cameron Green.

A over before Naveen-ul-Haq had already conceded 21 runs, in which to big sixes came from David’s bat. Mumbai had this 178 runs in their control untill the 15th over. They were already past 100 by the 11th over.

However, Ravi Bishnoi dismissed Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan in successive overs as things changed for Lucknow Super Giants. It wasn’t an easy pitch to bat on for new batters and that’s why Nehal Wadhera and Suryakumar Yadav couldn’t keep up with the runrate and Mumbai Indians lost the momentum.

Tim David was there till the end and had couple of big shots to keep the win in range. But a terrific over from Mohsin Khan gave LSG much needed win.

Tim David scored 32 off 19 balls and remained unbeaten till the end. Mohsin Khan ended with the figures of 26 for 1 in 3 overs which was impressive as well as full of positivity as LSG seals a definite spot in the top four.

After this win, Lucknow Super Giants have reached the third place in the points table and Mumbai Indians have slipped to the fourth position. Rajasthan Royals, who were once table toppers, now sit at the sixth position.
