After a tough away game in Scotland, Russia faced an easy opponent – Kazakhstan. Kaliningrad Stadium was built especially for World Cup Russia 2018. The stadium is structured perfectly so that players could show their full potential. Unfortunately, the fans could not see the full potential of any team yesterday.

Russia 1-0 Kazakhstan

Cherchesov started with four attacking players as the Russian team decided to play straight for three points. After an away win in Scotland, Russians needed three-point in Kaliningrad also. Belgium, Scotland, and Kazakhstan are also trying their best to qualify for Euro 2020, so it’s best to take points in home matches.

It was not an easy start for Russia, although Russians dominated Kazakhstan for the whole match. Despite the massive percentage of ball possession, Russians could shot on target once during the first half.

Nothing changed in the second half until the 88th minute. Golovin crossed a ball in the penalty area and Fernandes jumped higher than any defender – 1:0;

After the match, Cherchesov was not happy with the quality of football. Russian coach mentioned that they deserved 3 points, but his team lacked aggression in attack.

Scotland 0-4 Belgium

As you may know, Eden Hazard has been injured for more than a month and can’t help any of his teams. Without Hazard, Belgium did an outstanding job in Scotland and almost secured a place on Euro 2020.

Kevin De Bruyne and co did 99% of work in the first half, scoring three goals and conceding zero. In just 25 minutes period, De Bruyne gave three assists, and Belgium won first half 0:3;

In the second half, Kevin scored a fourth goal for Belgium, and the game ended successfully for Hazard’s team. Despite not having Eden, Belgium could win two essential matches in September.

San Marino 0-4 Cyprus

San Marino hosted Cyprus, and we saw an easy win for Shimon’s team. Cyprus is in the fourth position currently and could fight for the second position.

After six rounds, Belgium is dominating Group I with 18 points. Hazard’s team has not lost any points and scored 19 goals only conceding one. Russia is on the second position with 15 points only losing one game and scoring 18 goals (9 scored against San Marino in a single match).

As it seems, other teams (Cyprus, Kazakhstan, Scotland and San Marino) have only theoretical chances to qualify for Euro 2020. Four games left and Kazakhstan and Scotland should win all possible points while Russia should lose every match – that’s the only way for those nations.
