Mark Wood, a great joy to watch him ball like that, just too difficult for batsmen when it comes at that kind of pace. The Super Giants have proved how strong side they are with the kind of show they have put on against Delhi Capitals.

Like every other team, that aspires to make its homeground a fort, LSG have laid the foundation of building a fort for how they played against strong Delhi side.

They did start slowly but Kyle Mayers looked unstoppable once he had his eyes set on the ball. Delhi tried to made a slight comeback but it was power of Pooran that embittered their evening with some high quality shot.

But nothing matched the raw pace from Mark Wood is his first IPL presence for LSG. It was a sensational stuff from right arm quick who just bamboozled heavy priced Delhi batters Prithvi Shaw and Mitchell Marsh.

Mark Wood standing out as the best to shine tonight with kind of bowling he produced, it was breathtaking pace. It was pace and plenty of it from Mark Wood this evening.

Things were going the Capital’s way early on and they were 41 without loss, Prithvi Shaw and David Warner looked like they got their side off to a very good start and it was until they were met with fire.

None for 41 became 3 for 48 on the back of two overs from Mark Wood and just completely turned the game back in favour of the Lucknow Super Giants. Capitals never recovered and struggled throughout the innings to catch up with the improbable task ahead of them.

It is a nice win for the home side, a tough night for Delhi Capitals but that’s not end of the tournament. It’s all about moving ahead and thinking about the next game, they will play their next game in their home ground.

A fifer from Mark Wood was special, but then brutal hitting was Kyle Mayers was no less exceptional, just power, and plenty of it form Mayers as plenty of pace from Wood.

Delhi were not upto their mark in their fielding and that was what made difference in the first innings. Khaleel dropped Mayers when he was not entirely in mood and that led to a big cost which they paid as he hit 7 sixes in his 73 runs innings.
