According to court sources cited by Reuters and Agence France-Presse, four other individuals have been placed under formal investigation for extortion and criminal association with Mathis Pogba Included.
This month, the Paris prosecutor’s office started an investigation into Paul Pogba’s claims that he was the object of extortion attempts and threats from a criminal organization.
This month, court sources informed Reuters that the 29-year-old Juventus midfielder admitted to the Paris prosecutor’s office that he had been the object of extortion by childhood pals since March and had paid £85,000 (€100,000) to that group in the spring.
Franceinfo radio reported that the squad, armed with MI6 assault rifles, sought £11 million (€13 million) from the French midfielder for 13 years of “security services.”
The World Cup champion alleges that the group has threatened him for four months. In April, acts of intimidation were committed in Manchester and, later, in and around Turin, where Pogba currently plays for Juventus.
The gang is also accused of taking Paul to his childhood apartment in the Paris neighborhood of Lagny-sur-Marne at the end of March. There, the gang members accused the 29-year-old of not financially supporting them since becoming a professional athlete.
The initial investigations were handed to the OCLCO, a judicial police agency dedicated with investigating organized crime.
The amazing drama began a month ago when Paul’s older brother Mathias posted a video on social media claiming he would soon reveal a series of ‘major disclosures’ regarding the World Cup champion.
During the video, he stated, ‘The French, English, Italian, and Spanish publics, as well as my brother’s followers, and even more so the French team and Juventus, my brother’s teammates, and his sponsors, have a right to know some things.
“To make an informed determination as to whether he deserves the adoration, respect, and love of the public.
Whether he deserves his position on the French national team and the privilege of competing in the World Cup. If he is worthy of starting for Juventus.
If he is a trustworthy individual, every player would want him at his side.
Soon after the post was posted, the Juventus midfielder issued a statement, which was signed by his attorneys, his mother Yeo Moriba, and his current agent Rafaela Pimenta, in which he acknowledged that Mathias’ films were “sadly no surprise.”
The statement stated, “They (the videos) are in addition to threats and extortion attempts against Paul Pogba by an organized gang.”
The competent authorities in France and Italy were notified a month ago, and there will be no additional statement regarding the ongoing inquiry.
Paul Pogba was accused of using a witch doctor to cast a spell on 23-year-old Kylian Mbappe, a charge that the Juventus star denies and claims was fabricated to tarnish him.
In his most recent TikTok video, Mathias Pogba stated, “All of Paul’s words, from the hearing at the beginning of August – before my films – to the answer from his attorneys and the responses, from his supporters, are just aimed to drag my reputation through the mud.”
“Therefore, I’m wondering why I was so quick to assert that what I had to say was limited to witchcraft.”
Because it would be challenging to discuss so-called blackmail in this case? Therefore, wouldn’t it be preferable to emphasize that the older brother is a jealous, money-hungry individual willing to defame before he speaks? Isn’t that the purpose of all bogus accounts created in my name? We do not tolerate conspiracies here!’
After undergoing knee surgery, Paul Pogba will miss two months of action for Juventus, putting his World Cup ambitions in peril.
Mathias Pogba, 32, is a football player who has played for Wrexham, Crewe Alexandra, Crawley Town, and Partick Thistle in British football.
