A little about Matt Turner

The American goalkeeper is set to join Arsenal this summer, the New England Revolution has announced. Matt will start the MLS season with the Revs before joining the Gunners in June, allowing him to play for his current club in the CONCACAF Champions League. Matt Turner, who will still need medical attention, will travel to London in a deal that could reportedly end up worth as much as $10 million.

Matt starred at the Gold Cup last summer in his first big opportunity to stake his claim to be USMNT’s No. 1 goaltender. He continues to battle Zack Steffen for the role and both keepers want to represent PL clubs next summer. Matt has played 16 international matches since earning his first USMNT Cup in January 2021, starting each of three World Cup qualifiers in recent weeks. At club level, Matt helped the Revs win the 2021 Supporters Shield and was named MLS and MLS All-Star Goaltender of the Year for his efforts.
