Indian captain Rohit Sharma stunned the world as he walked the pitch in a pair of customized Adidas shoes. The brand has been an advocate of eliminating plastic waste in the oceans for many years.
Echoing the idea, Indian cricket team captain, Rohit Sharma was seen wearing spikes with the message End Plastic Waste during a Mumbai Indians match on April 24.
Designed by Aaqib Wani with input from Rohit himself, the shoe emphasizes saving our oceans, through an interesting piece of shoe art that displays a whale with red sea corals and plants.
Few cricketers in the country will continue to wear these shoes for the rest of the IPL season to promote their goal of eliminating plastic waste.
With this initiative, Rohit takes the field to bat for a cause- for every run of Adidas India will pick up 10 plastic bottles from the beaches of Mumbai.
Promoted through exquisite ocean-artwork on the shoe, the move furthers the message of Together Impossible is Nothing.
This is not the first time that we have seen Rohit walk the field like a man on a mission with his Save the Rhinos message from last year’s IPL, which has created a lot of buzz. All eyes will be on Rohit that now which shoe he wears in the next game.
