MI vs KKR Match Analysis

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will have to look for the quickest combination if they want to keep their bleak hopes alive in the Indian Premier League (IPL) to take on Mumbai Indians here on Monday, despite being ranked last in their morale.

The team has often made frequent changes but failed to find the perfect playing 11. These changes has came in form of desperation rather than strategically motivated. They will enter this match after suffering a crushing 75-run defeat at the table-toppers Lucknow Super Giants.

On the other hand, Mumbai Indians will take the field on high morale due to a five-run victory over the number two team Gujarat Titans. The doors for playoffs is already closed for Mumbai Indians. Rohit Sharma-led team has four points from 10 matches. At best, they can reach a maximum of 12 points which will not be enough to reach the playoffs. Royal Challengers Bangalore have 12 points while three other teams have 16 and 14 points.

MI vs KKR What to expect?

KKR, led by new captain Shreyas Iyer, suffered a massive defeat against Lucknow Super Giants on Saturday. They have eight points from 11 matches. At best, they can reach a maximum of 14 points in the remaining three matches but even that does not guarantee his fourth place.

Despite the adversity, both the teams will try to give a tough fight to each other at the DY Patil Stadium here. Both the teams will now look to make a positive end to their campaign. In the matches played between these two teams so far, Mumbai has won 22 matches and KKR has won eight matches. Mumbai will try to improve this record further.

The good thing for Mumbai is that both their openers, captain Rohit and Ishan Kishan, got the team off to a good start against the Titans. Against KKR, they will try to convert their good start into big scores.
