Lucknow Supergiants defeated Mumbai Indians by 18 runs in the 26th match of IPL 2022. Batting first after losing the toss, Lucknow Supergiants scored 199 runs losing four wickets in 20 overs. Lucknow captain KL Rahul played an unbeaten innings of 103 runs. Chasing the target of 200 runs, Mumbai’s team never looked in touch and fell 19 runs short of the target. Suryakumar Yadav scored the most runs for Mumbai. He scored 37 runs in 27 balls. Avesh Khan took three wickets for Lucknow Super Giants. 

In the last two overs, Mumbai needed 43 runs to win. In the 19th over, Mumbai scored 17 runs in Jason Holder’s over. Mumbai needed 26 runs off the last six balls. Jaydev Unadkat was run out on the first ball of the last over. He could score 14 runs in six balls with the help of two fours and a six. After this Murugan Ashwin hit a six off the second ball. Ashwin (6) was run out on the third ball. On the fifth ball, Chamira got Pollard caught by Stoinis. He could score 25 runs in 14 balls.
