Mino Raiola has been talking up Haaland this week, calling him “one of the future stars of the next decade” and saying there are only ten clubs in the world that could afford to sign him.
Erling Haaland won’t be at Dortmund forever
The sporting director of Borussia Dortmund Michael Zorc disagrees with Mino Raiola about the future of Erling Haaland. Raiola has been talking up Haaland this week, calling him “one of the future stars of the next decade”. And he said there are only ten clubs in the world that could afford to sign him. Zorc knows Haaland won’t be at Dortmund forever – but he believes Raiola was an optimist with his assertion. Zorc told reporters: “It is clear that Erling Haaland cannot and will not choose just any club after his time at Dortmund. I cannot even choose ten possible clubs. So there is no dissent. It was a normal statement Raiola has to give from time to time.”
The BVB are more open to letting Jadon Sancho leave than Erling
“We are delighted that Erling is here with us and that he scored in the last games and proved his worth to us. I can only say that Dortmund will continue to plan with him. So I don’t think he is not comfortable here at Dortmund”. Haaland is still a Dortmund player, but it is unclear whether he will stay for another season under incoming manager Marco Rose. Reports in Germany suggest Dortmund are more open to letting Jadon Sancho leave than Haaland, but a colossal offer could test their resolve. Manchester City, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester United are among the top clubs that have been linked. The Spanish giants’ financial troubles have received widespread publicity. But clubs worldwide have had to tighten their belts due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
So far, it seems that the race for Haaland’s signature is a transfer saga that will run through the summer – and possibly beyond.
