Madame Tussauds museum in London has immortalized Mo Salah who was left stunned when he first set eyes on his figure.
Mohamed Salah has 137 Liverpool goals, two Golden Boots, one Premier League title and a Champions League winner’s medal to his name. And now, the 29-year-old Egyptian has been immortalized at London’s Madame Tussauds wax museum.
Salah first came face-to-face with his waxwork doppelganger in a private viewing over the weekend fresh from scoring a sensational goal against Watford.
The Liverpool star was left wowed upon setting his eyes on the figure saying, “that looks exactly like me. It is like I am looking into the mirror. Does he have abs or no?”
“It is a blessing to be recognized and immortalized in this way. I couldn’t believe it when it stood alongside me. I can’t wait to see what the fans think”.
‘It has been an amazing experience working with the artists at Madame Tussauds London to create my first ever wax figure.’
Salah worked with artists to ensure his waxwork was accurate, undertaking hundreds of measurements and photographs. The figure stands in the attraction’s Awards Party Zone.
His wax figure wears the cream suit that Salah donned on the front cover of GQ Middle East magazine, while his hands are pointing upwards in recognition of his goal celebration.
Mo Salah is one of the game’s greats, arguably the best in the world right now, and incredibly deserving of a Madame Tussauds London figure,’ said Tim Waters, general manager at Madame Tussauds London.
He is also one of the Premier League’s most lethal marksmen, and his tally of 32 goals during the 2017-18 campaign remains the most goals scored by a player in a single 38-game league campaign.
