Luka Modric turns 36 on Thursday and he is showing no sign of stopping yet. The Croatian midfielder is into his tenth season with Real Madrid after his 2012 summer move from Tottenham Hotspur, and in reality he may be one of the most important players in Real Madrid’s team, and he is instrumental in Real Madrid’s success, surely he is a just midfielder, but his passes and movement is outstanding and many attackers can’t even compete to his performance.

Importance of Luka Modric

Luka Modric has excellent technique in general and it’s passing is no exception, he has the ability to play long balls out from the defensive third, but also has the ability to put the perfect amount of power on a through ball or thread the needle and put a teammate through on goal, because of his great passing ability he is trusted to set the tempo for Madrid, he is one of the core players that are indeed full of potential, even in his age of 36 he is still going strong with brilliant gameplay and ideal placing of his attack, he also can be a flexible player, as for example to start a offensive push and as for slowing down or even demolishing the push from the enemy team. By playing into his 36th year, Modric has played for longer than either of Xavi Hernandez and Andrea Pirlo, peers with whom he had many battles at the summit of European football. Xavi’s last season with Barcelona came when he was 35, before ending his career at a lower level in Qatar.

Future of Luka Modric

Luka Modric has close to infinite potential in his left career, as mentioned he is 36, but he still is full of potential and power to go on and be his best self, and in reality only time will show us how much better he can get, age doesn’t matter to him and nothing is really. He will still be one of the best midfielders to ever roam the world.
