The Egypt international Mohamed Salah, 29, became Liverpool’s fastest player to ever reach 100 league goals on Saturday as he temporarily put his side ahead against Brentford in a final 3-3 draw.

Mohamed Salah became the favorite

Salah has become a solid favorite at Anfield since arriving at the club from Roma in 2017 and has moved once more to help his side emerge from a tense situation, with a spot at the top of the Premier League on the line. However, the recently hyped Brentford spoiled the iconic finish with Wissa’s 82-minute goal to even the score.

A little about the topic

Mohamed Salah, 29, set off for Saturday’s game with a chance to regain his position at the top of the Premier League’s top scorers after being overtaken by Michail Antonio and Jamie Vardy earlier in the day. His goal finally arrived in the 54th minute, after Diogo Jota had previously canceled an early home shot along the Pinnock route.

It has earned him up to five in the league season so far, and has also provided him with a piece of Liverpool history. His century came in just 151 games, faster than any other Red player. Club legend Hunt was the previous record holder, making 100 in 152 appearances, while co-star Ian Rush took 168 outs to hit the mark.

He is also only one of four Liverpool players to make 100 Premier League appearances, alongside Steven Gerrard, Robbie Fowler and Michael Owen, and also made the top 10 scorers of all time with this latest strike. Only six men, meanwhile, have reached their age in the Premier League under just one manager: Mohamed Salah, who has spent his entire career under Jurgen Klopp; Sir Alex Ferguson’s Man Utd Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs and Wayne Rooney trio; and Thierry Henry, who hit 175 with Arsene Wenger on the bench.
