In the 14th match of IPL 2022, Pay Cummins disturbed the whole Mumbai Indians team with his hard hitting masterclass. Cummins hit a 14-ball fifty, which is the fastest fifty in IPL history. He equaled KL Rahul’s record. Rahul scored a half-century in 14 balls against Delhi in 2018.

With this win, Kolkata Knight Riders have reached the top of the points table. They have six points after four matches with three wins and one loss. With another loss, Mumbai Indians has reached number nine after losing all three matches.

Batting first after losing the toss, Mumbai Indians scored 161 runs for the loss of four wickets in 20 overs. In response, Kolkata chased down the target in 16 overs for the loss of five wickets. Cummins remained unbeaten on 56 off 15 balls with the help of four fours and six sixes. Suryakumar Yadav, playing the first match for Mumbai Indians, scored a half-century. He scored 52 runs in 36 balls with the help of five fours and two sixes. He also put a ‘sky shot’ in the match, due to which the fans were also quite entertained. This was the 14th half-century of Suryakumar’s IPL career. Also the new youngster Tilak Verma played an unbeaten innings of 38 runs in 27 balls.

Kieron Pollard, too, played a stormy innings in the last over of Pat Cummins. Following the wicket of Suryakumar Yadav, Pollard came to bat. However, 5 balls were left in the game. Pollard scored 23 runs in 5 balls of Cummins. Nonetheless, he helped Mumbai Indians to hop over 160 runs mark.
