Bangladesh Cricket Board Includes Former Test Captains for Matches Against Pakistan Shaheens

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced that former Test captains Mushfiqur Rahim and Mominul Haque have been included in the squad for the upcoming four-day matches against Pakistan Shaheens. These matches are in preparation for the two-match Test series against Pakistan’s senior men’s team.

The series will include two four-day games and three one-day matches, taking place between August 10-27 in Islamabad. The first four-day match is set to begin on August 10, with the opening Test match between the senior men’s teams starting on August 21 in Rawalpindi.

Abdur Razzak, a member of the national selection panel, mentioned that Mushfiqur and Mominul requested to be included in the first four-day game against Pakistan Shaheens. The selection panel believes that these matches will serve as valuable preparation for the cricketers who are likely to represent Bangladesh in the upcoming Test series.

Notable players from the previous Test series against Sri Lanka, such as Shahadat Hossain, Zakir Hasan, Mahmudul Hasan, Nayeem Hasan, and Hasan Mahmud, have been selected for the four-day match. Additionally, Mossadek Hossain, who last played a Test match in 2022 against Sri Lanka, has also been included in the squad.

Razzak explained that the inclusion of experienced players like Mossadek is to ensure that the team has options in case of any injury issues during the Test matches. He emphasized the importance of utilizing matches with the A team to provide opportunities for young players and maintain a competitive setup for the national team.

The Bangladesh A squad for the upcoming matches includes talented players like Mahmudul Hasan Joy, Zakir Hasan, Anamul Haque Bijoy, and others. These matches will not only serve as a platform for players to showcase their skills but also aid in team formation and development for future international competitions.
