The Bianconeri defeated Verona 2-0 on Sunday, with Dusan Vlahovic and Denis Zakaria scoring on their Juventus debuts.

The former arrived on the cheap from Borussia Monchengladbach with six months left on his contract, while the latter arrived from Fiorentina in a big-money January signing.

Free-scoring in the first half, Vlahovic was the first to score, lobbing into the far corner, before Zakaria clinched the victory with a low effort.

Juventus moves ahead of Atalanta and into fourth place in Serie A, despite the fact that the latter has a game in hand.

After racing onto a Paulo Dybala through ball in the 13th minute, Vlahovic opened his Juventus account – and the scoring – with a lovely chip over Lorenzo Montipo.

The newcomer was a constant threat in the first half, taking three shots – more than any other player – but was unable to add to his Serie A goal count of 18 before the break.

Zakaria, like the Serbian, scored on his debut for the Bianconeri, latching on to Alvaro Morata’s pass in behind and firing a low effort into the bottom-left corner.

Despite being at home, the Bianconeri had less possession of the ball than their opponents, but Verona rarely threatened Juventus’ goal and never looked like staging a comeback.

What does this imply? In ten league games, the Bianconeri have gone undefeated. Juventus extended their unbeaten streak in Serie A to ten games, winning seven and drawing three.

The Bianconeri had a slow start to the season, but have since put together a good run to finish fourth, despite the fact that Atalanta has a game in hand and is only two points behind them.
