Charlie Nicholas is afraid of Liverpool exposing Arsenal’s summer signing David Luiz in this weekend’s anticipated Premier League clash.

The Brazilian defender Luiz swapped Chelsea for Arsenal on dates of deadline and made his full debut for the Gunners victory over Burnley.

The 32-year-old Luiz has extensive experience in the Premier League and will be tasked with opposing Liverpool’s deadly attack at Anfield this Saturday.

Charles Nicholas Words on Saturday’s Match.

Arsenal’s hero Nicholas said, “I am hesitant, to say the least. It has been a good start, with Arsenal having won their first two matches for the first time in 10 years, so it tells you exactly how they usually start the season.”

He continued. “The team will be positive going into it, but the defensive frailties are still there and with Liverpool playing their front three, they will have the  pace and menace to deal with.”

“The other way to look at it is, as a test to see where Arsenal reach to the top four. A huge question on the day will take over. Will David Luiz be exposed?”

“The start is crucial, especially at Anfield, as Arsenal needs to get through the first 20-25 minutes without any damage. It is about getting through the first phase of the game and still being in it.”

Nicholas who has made his prediction at a 3-1 win for Liverpool added, “It also depends on how Unai Emery decides to line up. He may decide to block it up, stop Liverpool from playing, or keep it compact because of the opposition.”

According to Nicholas, he would prefer if Unai Emery went for attacking with the same back four with Mateo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira holding, Dani Ceballos in front of those two and a front three of Aubameyang, Nicolas Pepe and Alexandre Lacazette.

Gunners need to get on the ball and make things happen. “If Arsenal pins Liverpool back, then it can give us hope.”

Phil Thompson, also expects Liverpool to come out of the top. He said, “Arsenal started better than Liverpool, although both teams are unbeaten.” “I am looking forward to this game, I always look forward to Liverpool vs Arsenal as this has been one of the most attractive fixtures in the Premier League over the past few years, there is always something about this one. It whets the football appetite”.
