Shivam Dube to Replace Injured Nitish Reddy in India’s T20I Squad for Zimbabwe Series

In a disappointing turn of events for Nitish Reddy, the middle-order batter has been sidelined from the upcoming five-match T20I series against Zimbabwe due to an undisclosed injury. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed that their medical team is closely monitoring the 21-year-old’s recovery progress.

Stepping in as Reddy’s replacement is allrounder Shivam Dube, who is currently representing India in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. Dube has been a key player for the team, making significant contributions in matches against top teams like Australia, Bangladesh, and the USA.

India’s T20I squad for the Zimbabwe series, led by Shubman Gill, now includes three players from the T20 World Cup squad, with Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sanju Samson also in the mix. The series, scheduled for July 6, 7, 10, 13, and 14, will take place at the Harare Sports Club.

The updated T20I squad for India includes: Shubman Gill (c), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Abhishek Sharma, Rinku Singh, Sanju Samson (wk), Dhruv Jurel (wk), Riyan Parag, Washington Sundar, Ravi Bishnoi, Avesh Khan, Khaleel Ahmed, Mukesh Kumar, Tushar Deshpande, and Shivam Dube.
