The mesmerizing feat came during the second Test match against the West Indies in Multan on Saturday, January 25. Noman’s exceptional performance saw the West Indies collapsing to 54/8 in just 17 overs after choosing to bat first.
Setting the Stage
The day started with the debutant, Kashif Ali, making an impact in his very first over by dismissing Mikyle Louis. His hat-trick moment came as he dismissed Justin Greaves, Tevin Imlach, and Kevin Sinclair in quick succession, showcasing his mastery over the game.
While the West Indian batsmen struggled against spin once again, Noman’s exceptional bowling was supported by Sajid Khan, who also made significant contributions to the team’s successful performance. As the visitors found themselves reeling under pressure, Noman and Sajid continued to apply the heat, not allowing the West Indian batsmen to settle in.
Resilience from the Lower Order
Just when it seemed like the West Indies would succumb to a low total, Gudakesh Motie and Kemar Roach displayed incredible resilience, stitching together a crucial partnership to steer their team towards a respectable score of 163 in the first innings. Motie’s maiden Test fifty was a standout moment, showcasing his determination and skill under pressure.
Despite the lower-order resistance, Noman Ali remained relentless, completing his fifer by dismissing Roach and Motie to finish with impressive figures of 6-41. His exceptional bowling display not only earned him the accolade of a Test hat-trick but also played a pivotal role in Pakistan’s dominant performance in the match.
Entertaining Battle on the Field
The match also witnessed an entertaining battle between Joel Warrican and the Pakistani bowlers, with Warrican showcasing his attacking batting skills in a bid to salvage the West Indies’ innings. His partnership with Motie added crucial runs to the total, providing some relief to the visiting team in the face of Pakistan’s relentless bowling attack.
