Josep Guardiola has criticized Arsenal. Pep requires apologies to everyone who fought against City.
The relationship between Manchester City and London’s Arsenal is broken. But not because Arsenal beat City 2-0 in the FA Cup semi-final on Saturday. The reason is the decision of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) and the discussions related to it, to which City coach Josep Guardiola responded. Pep strongly attacked the London club.
As you know, an arbitration tribunal pardoned City last week and allowed them into the Champions League. Guardiola’s team was banned from competing in European tournaments by UEFA – for violating the rules of financial fair play. The CAS lifted City’s disqualification altogether and reduced the $ 30 million fine to $ 10 million. This decision of the court has been criticized by many. There was some resistance directly from the English Premier League, the initiator of which, as it turns out, was Arsenal.
“Rivals always deserve my respect and recognition. I respect London Arsenal on the pitch, but not off the pitch! ” Said, Guardiola.
According to the Telegraph, it was Arsenal who initiated the letter sent by the eight Premier League clubs to the CAS, urging them to refrain from pardoning City.
Earlier, Pep attacked anyone who objected to the CAS decision and was not in favor of admission to Manchester City. Among them was Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp, who said that the day was not good for football after the court ruling. Pep responded to the German soon after and said that that day was definitely very good for football. However, Guardiola added that all critics of Manchester City should apologize.
