Football manager Nuno Espirito Santo was fired from Tottenham after just four months under management.

Nuno Espirito Santo a true gentleman

Nuno was drafted as Mourinho’s permanent successor in June, with the Spurs awarded him an initial two-year contract. The deal was terminated early in the wake of a 3-0 home defeat to Man Utd that leaves the North London outfit ten points after ten games without the attention of Premier League leaders Chelsea.

An ad on the Spurs website confirmed that Nuno Espirito Santo, along with the coaching staffs of Dias, Barbosa and Cathro, are all relieved of their duties. The Managing Director of Spurs Paratici, who, like Santo, only came to the club this summer, said he knew how much Santo and his coaching staff wanted to be successful and regretted having to make that decision.

According to Fabio Paratici, Nuno Espirito Santo is a true gentleman and will always be welcome here. They would like to thank him and his coaching staff and wish them well for the future.

Reaching Nuno Espirito Santo in spurs

Santo took the charge with just 17 games in all competitions as Tottenham’s head coach, recording nine wins, one draw and seven losses. Five of those defeats were in the Premier League, with Chelsea, Crystal Palace, West Ham and Arsenal getting better than Man Utd.

Spurs had the second-worst record in both shots and chances created in the Premier League under Espirito Santo, who also has an unwanted record of most losses by three goals or more in the division so far this season.

A little about the topic

It was well documented that Tottenham considered a number of other candidates prior to the appointment of Espirito Santo, including Fonseca, Gattuso and Conte. It has already been reported that the Spurs have contacted Antonio Conte again, the Managing Director of the Paratici Club, eager to bring his compatriot to the stability of the ship that had previously worked with him at Juve. Potter from Brighton and Leicester City boss Rodgers have also been linked to the post.
