The Man United coach, Solskjaer is the new candidate in the Premier League nearing to be axed out of his managerial role this season.

Despite being in a commanding position after two matches, Manchester United was sent packing from the Champions League on Tuesday after a shameful defeat in the League’s final round.

The Premier League side displayed an insipid first half going behind within 13 minutes before finding their feet too late in Germany.

As a result, the pressure is seriously on increase in Solskjaer. Currently, he now leads the Premier League sack race with United managers’ odds to go being shortened to 2/1 from the previous 9/1 according to Betfair.

Similarly, the club’s form in the Premier League is not “pleasing” and has caused reasons to be alarmed following their very slow start to matches. United sit in the sixth at the Premier League have come from behind in three of their last four matches while scraping past West Brom 1-0 at home.

Performance-wise, it hasn’t been good at Old Trafford this season and now Solskjaer is aware he must make a rapid improvement if he wants to keep his job.

Solskjaer faces a daunting task on Saturday evening as United look to bounce back when they host rivals and title challengers Manchester City.

Moreover, according to the Netherland international, he was quick to point out Tuesday’s defeat to Leipzig was his “responsibility” and he will be desperate to put that right on the weekend.

He said, “we didn’t perform as a team and that’s always the manager’s responsibility; to get everyone ready”.

“We knew they’d come at us. Unfortunately, we conceded two goals. We never got going. We didn’t turn up until they scored the second goal”.

“Maybe the referee should have done something for the second one with the push on Telles. Maybe we need to be more streetwise. We started playing at 2-0. It was one-way traffic in the second half. They gave everything and showed very good character”.
