Jesse Lingard continues his fine form after hitting a brace against Leicester to guide the Hammers back to the top four.
Lingard continues to impress in his loan spell proving his worth to the Old Trafford outfit. Since joining West Ham United, Lingard has seen nothing but success earning him a place in England’s squad.
In a game that Madison missed, Lingard stole the show with another outstanding performance. According to West Ham coach David Moyes, Lingard has been an important member of his side’s recent form.
“There is a real belief that we can go and win games,” Moyes said.
“And we have got players who can do that. Jesse has been crucial. I didn’t expect him to get quite so many goals – long may it continue,” the Scottish added.
On the other hand, Lingard also emphasizes that the team believes in themselves. He attributes his performance to Confidence and instinct.
“It’s confidence and instinct,” Lingard said.
“The lads battle on. There is a big belief in the team,” he emphasized.
Meanwhile, Leicester coach Brendan Rodgers expresses his bitter disappointed with Madison and the rest after breaching COVID 19 protocols.
As a result, Rodgers excluded a group of Leicester City players, including Madison, after breaching the COVID 19 protocols.
“From a personal perspective, I’m bitterly disappointed. With the boys, it’s a mistake they’ve made. I won’t hold it against them.”
“The value and the standard we’d expect was broken. There were certain standards that you need to protect. I have really strong relationships with them, they’re good boys. They work hard,” Rodgers explains.
“But they’ve made a mistake and there’s been a consequence of that. It won’t linger, they’ve served their punishment as such,” he added.
“It would have been easy for me just to give them a week’s fine, and then they join the group today,” he said. “It’s something now that will hopefully help them to make a decision if they are in that position in the future.”
