Pablo Mari wants to stay in Serie A
Pablo Mari still has two years on his Emirates Stadium contract but would rather stay in Italy.

The Spanish footballer admitted that he is so happy in Udinese and wants to stay in Serie A after the end of the season. Pablo initially joined Arsenal from Flamengo for £14m in July 2020 after a short loan spell at Emirates Stadium but has since only played 19 games in all competitions for the club. Spanish player Pablo Mari was reduced to a bit role with Arteta in the first half of the 2021-22 campaign and the Gunners sent him on loan to Udinese in January, where he discovered a new life loan.

No purchase option was included in the deal between the two clubs and the Spanish centre-back is due to return to north London this summer to see the remaining two years of his contract. However, Pablo Mari would prefer to stay at the Dacia Arena and has stated that he would like to stay in Serie A next season.
According to the Spanish centre-back on contract until June 2024 with Arsenal – but he is so happy here in Udinese. Pressing on why he likes living in Italy more than in England, Pablo replied that he had already seen Porto Cervo in the summer and Venice since he was in Udine. Beautiful. To date, the Spanish centre-back has made eight appearances in Serie A for Udinese, all starting as head coach Gabriele Cioffi, who has quickly become a shining figure for Pablo Mari. The Italian side only managed to record three wins in this time though, along with three draws and two losses, sliding down to 13th in the table as a result.
