The draft order for the Big Bash League has been revealed, with Melbourne Renegades getting the first pick, while Ricky Ponting’s Hobart Hurricanes will get their first pick last. This time many well-known names from South Africa, Pakistan, England, New Zealand and West Indies will also be seen playing in the Big Bash League.

Cricket Australia also announced that the inaugural draft would be broadcast by Fox Cricket during prime time on 28 August.

According to a report in Daily Telegraph, many stars from Pakistan are going to be included in the draft with names like Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan and Shaheen Shah Afridi.

Azam and Rizwan are the top two ranking talents in Twenty20 international cricket, and with the likes of Afridi, Haris Rauf and Shadab Khan among others, Pakistan finds itself home to the best Twenty20 players.

Playing all these players in the Big Bash League will play an important role for Cricket Australia. The Big Bash League’s viewership has come down in the last few years, it was speculated that it was due to Kovid 19 but the presence of international players was also a big reason.

Players from all over the world come to participate in IPL and the market value of IPL is also high. In such a situation, T20 franchise leagues around the world are looking to improve themselves.

The Big Bash will have to face its own challenges, with the recent confirmation that all six franchises in the new South African T20 league (which will go against BBL in January) have been bought by IPL owners.

Another competitor has been sanctioned by the International Cricket Council, a privately owned United Arab Emirates league, and will also go up against the BBL. With these competitions not expected to begin until at least January 13, the Big Bash will have free air and many international stars, at least in the short term.

Obviously, with the growth of all these T20 franchise leagues, there will be some impact on international cricket and the interest of the players and the council will also read light.
