Pakistan vs West Indies Rescheduled Series With Teams
The first game of the ODI Series between the cricket teams Pakistan and West Indies is scheduled to be played on June 8, second match on June 10, third and final game on June 12. West Indies are touring Pakistan for the three-match ODI rescheduled series, which is being played at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi, starting on June 8.
The Pakistan Cricket Board has retained Multan as the fallback option and said Monday that the three-match ODI series, part of the Cricket World Cup Super League, would take place on June 8, 10, and 12, as scheduled. The three ODIs were initially scheduled to be played in Rawalpindi, but the Pakistan Cricket Board had to move them to Multan.
Multan was not the favoured place to host the ODIs originally, but in view of the political uncertainties of neighboring Islamabad, the PCB was forced to move from Rawalpindi. It is said that former Pakistani prime minister and cricket captain Imran Khan was planning to hold protest rallies in federal capital Islamabad, which is close to Rawalpindi, and this forced the PCB to move the ODI series to Multan Cricket Stadium for the three matches.
West Indies had been scheduled to tour Pakistan at the end of last year, but the ODI series was postponed because of the presence of five COVID-19 cases on the touring team, with West Indies returning home having played only three T20 Internationals. While Pakistan won the T20Is easily with 3-0 no-brainer, the ODI legs were forced to be pushed back to later dates after several cases of COVID-19 were confirmed by West Indies teams and support staff.
West Indies are back in Pakistan to conclude the White-Ball tour which was delayed last December because of COVID-19 — here is a full team sheet and team composition for the 2022 ODI between Pakistan and West Indies.
