Despite being extensively linked with a move to Real Madrid, PSG are said to be doing everything they can to keep Kylian Mbappe at the club beyond this summer.

Last summer, the Spanish giants, Real Madrid, wanted to sign Mbappe, but PSG rebuffed their interest.

Mbappe’s contract at the Parc des Princes, on the other hand, is set to expire in June, and he has yet to sign a new one.

According to reports, the Ligue 1 leaders had already promised to make him the highest-paid player in the world, and it is thought that the club’s owners are desperate to keep him on their books.

Mbappe is said to have pondered dedicating his future to the club if they were competing for the major honors. However, PSG will find it tough to persuade him following their most recent Champions League loss, which came at the hands of Real Madrid on Wednesday.

PSG have let an aggregate advantage of at least two goals slip for the third time in the last six seasons, having done so against Barcelona in 2017 and Manchester United in 2019.

Mbappe was credited with a creditable performance after scoring in both legs. But he may have made up his mind about where he will play football next season as a result of this defeat.

After the final whistle, it was reported that PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi threatened a Real Madrid employee before attempting to reprimand the referee for his performance at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Mbappe’s departure might exacerbate problems behind the scenes at the club, which is still attempting to overcome its Champions League drought.

If Mbappe decides to leave at the end of the season, they could face yet another setback.
