Paul Pogba is preparing to return to Turin for six years from securing an initial period with Juventus to completion.
Contract duration
The French footballer is ready to return to the Bianconeri as a free agent and the player is preparing to return to Turin after his Man Utd contract expires. Pogba spent four years with Juventus between 2012 and 2016 with his profile increased in Italy to the point that a world record transfer fee of £89m was required to take him back to Old Trafford for a second stint in England. The Frenchman is now poised to return to a familiar environment in Serie A with the final confirmation of the deal now expected next month.
Once it became apparent that the French player would be severing Manchester United’s ties as no expansion had been agreed upon, a number of clubs expressed interest in acquiring his services. Some of those have tried to lead the Bianconeri to an expensive signature, but the Italian heavyweights have fended off rival advances to put the deal in place. It is understood that Paul will now agree to a three-year deal through 2025 with those terms worth approximately €7.5 million per season.
Reason for Paul Pogba’s return
Paul Pogba has given Juve his word that he will be reuniting with their ranks and will not have any recent change of heart. The Frenchman is confident that the right career call is being made with close family and friends who have been informed of the decision, which is now set in stone. The Bianconeri are extremely confident in sealing the free transfer for Paul Pogba and that they believe they have done whatever is necessary to get him back.
While official confirmation may still take time, possibly until early July, the club has received assurance from Paul’s camp that the player is bound for Turin. The France midfielder enjoyed his previous spell with the Bianconeri when he claimed four consecutive Serie A titles and wants to build on a record in Turin that previously saw him register 34 goals through 178 matches. The Bianconeri manager gave the player a chance to prove himself before with the highly regarded tactician first filling the demanding managerial role back in 2014 and the pair are now poised to be reunited.
Massimiliano Allegri has been vying for Paul to be brought in as the bianconeri look to bounce back from two finishes in fourth place and the Juventus board is ready to deliver the marquee addition. Things have not worked out as planned for Paul Pogba at Man Utd, despite winning three trophies in his first season back at Manchester, and the player will be looking to re-open the spark with another fiercely ambitious outfit.
