Paul Pogba’s Eye-watering Base Salary as he Prepares to sign £68m Juventus Package
Paul Pogba is expected to sign a four-year contract with Juventus in the next few days, with the agreement valued at €80 million (about £68.3 million).
Pogba played for Juventus from 2012 to 2016, winning eight championships with the club, including four Serie A titles in a row.
Since United confirmed his departure from the Premier League, Pogba has been linked with Juventus, PSG, and Real Madrid. Due to their previous history, the Turin club is the favourites to sign him, and a deal is said to be close.
Pogba has agreed to an €8 million per year (about £6.8 million) wage at Juventus. That calculates up to more than £131,000 each week, which is a significant pay decrease. At Old Trafford, he was allegedly paid £290,000 per week.
Despite this, Pogba’s value has dropped in the previous six years. The midfielder, who graduated from United’s academy before going to Turin in 2012, returned to Manchester in the summer of 2016 for a world-record £89 million transfer price.
Pogba was regarded as one of Europe’s greatest young talents at the time. During his first season with Juventus, he has crowned the Golden Boy and was chosen to FIFA’s World XI. In 2013, he was named Player of the Tournament after helping France win the U20 World Cup.
Pogba, on the other hand, has been unable to reproduce his form in Manchester. In six seasons, he has only helped United win two trophies: the EFL Cup and the Europa League, and they haven’t won anything since the 2016-17 season. Last season, United finished sixth in the Premier League.
Pogba’s rumored agreement with Juventus is still profitable, despite the fact that he is scheduled to accept a wage reduction. He may earn up to €2 million in bonuses every year (about £1.7 million) and is anticipated to get a big signing-on fee because the Italian giants will not have to pay a transfer fee.
When salary, agent fees, the signing-on fee, and bonuses are factored in, Pogba’s claimed a deal could cost Juventus roughly £63.3 million. That’s a lot less than what United paid for a midfielder, who is thought to have cost more than £200 million.
