English football coach Paul Scholes was annoyed by Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta’s antics on the sidelines while VAR was being tested.

What did Paul say about Mikel Arteta?

The Englishman branded the Spaniard a disgrace and accused the Gunners’ coach of trying to encourage fans to influence the referee during a clash against the Red Devils on Saturday. Granit Xhaka, Bukayo Saka and Nuno Tavares scored as Arsenal ran out 3-1 winners in a PL clash to boost their hopes of a top four finish while arguably ending their rivals’ chances. There was some controversy surrounding the Conners’ second goal, however, as the goal was banned for offside after a VAR review, but referee Craig Pawson awarded a penalty for a foul on Bukayo.

Mikel’s behavior on the sidelines while the footage was being reviewed annoyed Paul Scholes, as he said he didn’t really think about the foul, to be honest. According to Paul, this calls into question whether this is a clear and obvious error, which is the only reason he should move to VAR.

This meeting, of course it is. Paul thinks Mikel Arteta is a shame. He must not be allowed to do this. The Englishman says that if they see it again, he is actually going to the crowd to try and influence the referee a little. All the players around them too. According to Scholes, this should not be allowed, but this is a little awkward from Telles.

A little about Arsenal

The win keeps the Gunners in fourth place in the league with five games to go. They are two points ahead of Tottenham, who drew 0-0 against Brentford on Saturday, while Man Utd are four points behind. Arsenal will face Hammers this coming Sunday, who are now the favorites of the trio, who have secured their place in next season’s Champions League group stage by finishing the campaign in the top four. A week after that, they will face Leeds ahead of a possible critical meeting in Tottenham on 12 May.
