The English manager has defended Ajax star Brazilian player Antony for wanting to join the right club as he continues to press for a move to the Red Devils.

What did Paul Scholes say about Antony?

English coach Paul Scholes addressed Brazilian striker Antony’s transfer saga ahead of Manchester United’s narrow win at Southampton, suggesting he feels bad for the player amid his attempts to seal a move to Old Trafford from Ajax.

The Manchester United legend said that Antony looks talented and they can all sit here and say it’s probably too much for him, but he says Paul just thinks it’s crazy these days.

According to Paul Scholes, he feels a bit like a guy because he obviously wants to come for Man Utd, one of the biggest clubs in the world. Scholes says that Antony is in a good club in Ajax don’t get him wrong, but that’s where, this is a real club, this is a proper football club, where he will be seen all over the world.

Antony has great skills and is a player the manager likes, he has him. Paul Scholes also says he feels a bit sorry for the player, but they’ll see what happens.

What will happen after that for Antony?

The Brazilian has recently made it clear he wants to move from Ajax and reunite with his former manager Erik ten Hag in Manchester. Antony has been left out of Schreuder’s latest squad for the Eredivisie clash with Utrecht as speculation over his future intensifies ahead of the September 1st transfer deadline.

Ajax are reportedly reluctant to sell the Brazilian so late in the window as they have little time to find a replacement. If a deal with Man Utd is not agreed, the Brazilian international is expected to play for the Dutch giants on September 3 against Cambuur.
