PBKS IPL 2022 Full Schedule: The Punjab based IPL franchise has been renamed as Punjab Kings and the team management will be hoping for a turnaround in fortunes after the improvement in the last season.
The departure of captain KL Rahul from the team after IPL 2021 means that PBKS is looking for a new captain for the 2022 season.
The team representing Punjab was bought by Mohit Burman (46%) of Dabur Group, Ness Wadia (23%) of Wadia Group, Preity Zinta (23%), and Saptarshi Dey of Day & Day Group (minor stake). The group paid a total of $76 million to acquire the franchise in 2007.
Their best result in the IPL over the years was runners-up in 2014 when they lost to the Gautam Gambhir-led Kolkata Knight Riders in the final. He was also a semi-finalist in the inaugural edition of IPL in 2008.

Punjab Kings had the biggest purse in the IPL 2022 auction with a total of Rs 72 crores. He retained only two players for a salary cut of Rs 16 crore.
Head coach Anil Kumble aimed to rebuild the team and now PBKS is hopeful that they can compete for the IPL 2022 title after a poor show in the last few seasons.
