Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) star batsman Virat Kohli has spoken about the role fans play in his career as fans flock to the stadium after a hiatus of a few years for the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Kohli described RCB fans as the 12th man army of the team and said that he is looking forward to their unwavering support in this season of IPL as well.

Exclusively speaking on the franchise-run podcast RCB Bold Diaries. Former captain Virat Kohli expressed his gratitude towards the fans.

Kohli said, I am very excited and I am very grateful. I have understood the impact and contribution of fans coming to stadiums in my career. Because let them try to do better by seeing their cheers.

He added, “It’s a very special feeling for me. I and Anushka talked about this. It is a feeling that makes you realize the importance and you must accept the fact that fans have played such a big role in your career.

The former captain said, because, now that I look back. I can hear the screams of 40,000-50,000 people. It took me to a different level where I felt that anything is possible, I can do anything. I have the energy of so many people behind me. They believe in me. Hopefully, the number of fans will increase as the tournament progresses.

As per the COVID protocol set by the BCCI, 25 per cent of fans are allowed in stadiums in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Pune.
