Josep Pedrerol is a very popular TV anchor in Spain. He is the football analyst and always gets very emotional while talking about Real Madrid. Host noted that there is rumor saying Jovic may leave Los Blancos. Jovic is ready to join Italian top clubs and Manchester United. MU fans are happy with the current situation so Luka may be a good option for them.
Zidane played Luka Jovic and Karim Benzema together. In the last match, none of the strikers could score a goal against Real Betis. As it seems, Zidane is not happy with Jovic’s performance. Indeed, Luka has not impressed fans in last season but he had very few minutes to play. Luka could score a few goals but none of his performances were outstanding. It seems that Luka prefers mostly to be very close to the goalkeeper and he waits for crosses.
Pedrerol said that Zidane chose Luka Jovic last summer. Madrid’s officials were not interested in Luka Jovic skills but Zidane chose Serbian striker. Zidane knew what type of player Luka is and he still chose him. It means that Zinedine is responsible for Serbian’s playing style and performances. Not giving enough time last season showed Pedrerol that Zidane knows nothing about scouting players.
Zidane’s issues with strikers
Zinedine prefers Karim Benzema over other strikers. In his official managerial career, Karim Benzema was his main striker. Especially after the departure of Cristiano, Karim became the only striker for Zizou. Los blancos signes Mariano, and Borja Mayoral. They even paid 60 million Euros for Luka Jovic but none of the forwards played full matches under Zizou. French coach is only interested in strikers like Karim Benzema. Zidane does not want to have a striker who just stands near the goalkeeper and waits for assist. Just like Karim Benzema, striker has to play from deep and create scoring chances.
