Barcelona youngster Pedri spoke about his career at Barcelona, mentioning his gratitude to Ronald Koeman for giving him a chance and about how he ended up knocking back Real Madrid. When asked if Leo Messi seemed happier lately, Pedri believes that not only the Argentine is in a better mood. “When the results start coming, he is happier. Like everyone in the team,” Pedri told reporters. However, he did not find it appropriate to discuss the future of Messi. “I prefer not to talk to him about that. It is a decision that he must make, and we will be pleased to we’ll enjoy having him while he is here,” he said.
Ronald Koeman is a guy who trusts youngsters
“Of course, I want him to stay for many years, but he has to make a decision. I’m not getting involved”. Koeman surprised many by throwing Pedri straight in at the deep end this season. But it paid off, and Pedri is happy with his coach. “He surprised me because I didn’t expect him to be the way he is. Real Madrid handed Pedri a trial in the past, but a move never materialised. “In the first few days I was there, when I put on the kit, looked at the badge, and I knew something was not quite right,” he said.
