What did Pep say about Kevin De Bruyne?

The Citizens vice-captain has established himself as one of the best playmakers of all time in his seven years at the Etihad. In 215 games, the player has registered 89 assists – now just three short of Gerrard’s 92 in his Premier League career with the Reds.

Ahead of the meeting with the Villans, the Manchester City manager said he felt sorry for Gerrard but his goalscoring record would be broken sooner or later. According to Pep Guardiola, he is almost certain that Steven will be happy if the person who breaks his record is a player like Kevin De Bruyne.

Guardiola thinks Kevin De Bruyne is setting good examples for future generations and kids all the time of how to be a football player and how to behave, no social media, easy life. Pep says that then as a player he is exceptional so he can do whatever he wants and Guardiola hopes he can maintain that level for a long time to come.

A little about the topic

Belgian Kevin De Bruyne has 74 more assists to add to take Ryan Giggs (162) an all-time Premier League goalscoring record. The former Red Devils winger is coming out on his own in this regard and Kevin De Bruyne is the only current player capable of breaking his record at the moment.

French coach Thierry Henry holds the record for most assists in a Premier League season. The player made 20 assists during the 2002-03 campaign and also scored 24 goals in one of the most unusual individual campaigns of all time.

What’s next for Kevin?

Four more assists will take Kevin De Bruyne out of Steven and into seventh on the Premier League assists list. He will then have Dennis Bergkamp (94) and David Silva (93).
