Manchester City will have a big week ahead. The team has to play against Chelsea, PSG (Champions League) and Liverpool in the Premier League again.

Pep’s impact on the strategy will have big influence

Manchester City are facing a huge week with three significant games. All away from home, City face title rivals Chelsea and Liverpool in the Premier League either side of a trip to take on Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League. For this reason, Pep Guardiola took advantage of last Tuesday’s Carabao Cup fixture to rotate wherever possible, though City still managed a 6-1 win over Wycombe Wanderers. In that XI, Ferran Torres, Kevin De Bruyne, Riyad Mahrez and Phil Foden all played.

Three big games in a row

Saturday sees City face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, and both will back themselves for Premier League success this season as last year’s Champions League finalists. Guardiola will be without Oleksandr Zinchenko, and both Ilkay Gundogan and Rodri are doubtful. The game against Chelsea could make a big impact on the Premier League title battle. Keep in mind that Chelsea is in perfect form. They win many consecutive games, so Pep’s role is to stop Tuchel’s side.

After a repeat of last season’s Champions League final, City have a repeat of the semi-final in Paris. Back then, Guardiola’s side came out on top, but now Mauricio Pochettino has had Lionel Messi added to his attack. Elsewhere, Georginio Wijnaldum and Achraf Hakimi have come in and made an impact. PSG will have Messi, Neymar and Mbappe in the attacking line. So, Pep has to be very careful in the defensive line.

To round the week off, City face Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, who are currently leading the Premier League alongside Chelsea. Virgil van Dijk is back, and neutrals will have a game to look forward to watching, as they will with each of Manchester City’s games this week
