For the second year in a row, Phil Foden has been named Premier League Young Player of the Year.

The 21-year-old has been a key player for Pep Guardiola’s team as they attempt to maintain their Premier League championship on Sunday.

With just one game remaining against Aston Villa, he has equaled his goal output from last season with nine goals and five assists.

His excellent form helped him beat a number of England teammates, including Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold, Chelsea’s Mason Mount, and West Ham’s Declan Rice.

Aaron Ramsdale and Bukayo Saka of Arsenal, as well as Conor Gallagher and Tyrick Mitchell of Crystal Palace, were also named to the shortlist.

After winning the fan poll, Foden commented, “I am really delighted to have received this award for the second season in a row.”
‘There are so many fantastic young players in the Premier League this season, and it’s an honor to win it again.’

‘I’ve been extremely pleased with my performances this season, and it’s been nice to contribute to this club in what we all hope will be another successful year.’

‘It’s an honor to be nominated with so many great players who have all had outstanding seasons for their teams.’

‘I’d want to express my gratitude to everyone who has helped me grow this season.’

Foden initially became a regular member of the City team during the team’s league-winning season last year.

Despite heavy competition from a number of other nominees who have had successful seasons, he has won the prize.

Mount, along with Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen, is one of just three players in the Premier League with at least 10 goals and assists this season.

Saka, meanwhile, has 11 goals and six assists for Arsenal this season as the Gunners seek for a Champions League comeback.
