Andrea Pirlo claims he has found the right Juventus side in the recent weeks after beating Atalanta to win Coppa Italia.
Juventus eased past Atalanta 2-1 to lift the Coppa Italia trophy. The trophy comes as a consolation to Juventus’ disastrous season that has seen their 9 years Serie A dominance.
According to the Bianconeri coach, the trophy resulted in a continual sacrifice from everyone. He claims he has finally found his desired Juventus side despite a difficult Serie A campaign.
“I had already found the right Juventus some weeks ago, the spirit was right even before the defeat to Milan. I saw a team that is aware of the moment we are going through,” Pirlo claimed.
“When there is sacrifice on the part of everyone, trying to help each other, then reaching our goal becomes much simpler,” he added.
Though the Coppa Italia trophy, Juventus’s Champions League spots hang by a thread adding pressure on Pirlo. Despite that, Pirlo remains adamant that he was focused on his task rather than worrying about his future.
“I have already said a thousand times that I only think of doing my job well day by day.
“I still have another match, on Sunday (against Bologna). Where we will face a team that will try to prevent us from winning,” Pirlo said.
He added, “There is talk every day externally, but I only try to do my best for the good of the team. It was just gossip that said the dressing room was against me, but they have always given 100% and when you get results it’s normal that people are happier.
Also, Pirlo claims that he loves Juve and it gives him satisfaction.
“I would love to be in charge for the Supercoppa Italiana. I love this club. It gave me great satisfaction as a player and now I am able to coach it,” Pirlo claimed.
