Crystal Palace

It has been a tough few weeks for Patrick Vieira and his Crystal Palace side after a bruising FA Cup semi-final exit sandwiched between Premier League losses has left the ‘Eagles’ needing to go ‘back to basics’ according to Vieira. However, all three of those games were played away from Selhurst Park, so Palace may be glad to return to familiar surroundings as they look to end a 205-minute scoring duck. While Palace currently languish in the bottom half of the Premier League standings, a continuation of their current five-game unbeaten run of home games could still see them push for a top-half finish for the first time since 2014/15. Also protecting a run of three home clean sheets, Palace will extend their unbeaten run of home H2Hs to six should they equal a run of four home shutouts last achieved in 2012!

Leeds United

After flirting with relegation earlier in the campaign, a four-game unbeaten run under the stewardship of manager Jesse Marsch has taken Leeds United to a position of relative safety. They can ill afford to take their foot off the gas now though as Burnley and Everton are lurking behind them, with midfield man Mateusz Klich admitting that Leeds need ‘a couple more points’ to feel safe. Further highlighting Leeds’ recent resurgence in the survival scrap is their away form as the ‘Peacocks’ have scored six goals across their last two away games following a run of three straight road trips where they lost ‘to nil’! Continuing that run could be difficult here, as Leeds have often found Monday night Premier League games tough since their top-flight return.

For Palace, twelve of Jean-Philippe Mateta’s last 13 senior club goals have come before half-time. As for Leeds, seven of Raphinha’s last nine Premier League goals were match openers, including a stoppage-time winner in the reverse fixture! Palace are unbeaten in all four of their Monday night Premier League games this season.
