PSG took on Angers while AS Monaco visited Olympique Lyonnais in the cup quarterfinals. After the victory, PSG coach Mauricio Pochettino claims that his side’s performance was ‘great’.

The Parisian club thrashes Angers at the Parc des Princes to qualify. After the match, Pchettino heap praises to his team claiming they fully deserved the win. in the Coupe de France quarter-final.

“I think we’re all very happy because the performance was good, very professional,” Pochettino said.

“What we wanted was to be in the semi-final. We’re there and it’s fully deserved,” he added.

“I’m delighted for the team. It’s really important to play showing our identity and always fighting,” the former Spurs coach stated.

“Sometimes we have habits that we need to change but I’m happy and I think it was a great effort. The game wasn’t easy but whenever you play a Ligue 1 team it’s difficult,” he admits.

On the other hand, AS Monaco coach Niko Kovac reacts to his side slot at the semi-final. Kovac insisted his side played well as a team and their fighting spirit earned them a victory. He admits that they started poorly but came back strong in the second half.

“At half-time, we made a readjustment. We went from three to four at the back in building play. It’s true that in the second half we were better,” Kovac admits.

“But what I remember above all is the team’s spirit, the fighting spirit that was shown by the team. And in the end, I think we deserved our victory over the course of the game,” he continued.

The two, Monaco and Lyon will clash again in ten days to come. However, Kovac thinks there will be no repercussions following tonight’s victory.

“We are going to analyze this match, as Lyon will of course do the same. So I imagine that in ten days the match will be very different and that there will be no repercussions following tonight’s victory,” Kovac said.
