According to sources in France, Paris Saint-Germain may want to unload flop Sergio Ramos this summer after the Spaniard’s injury-plagued season.

PSG bought Sergio Ramos on a free transfer from Real Madrid last summer, and he still has one year left on his deal at the Parc des Princes, but he appears to be on his way out.

Injury has hampered the 36-year-first old’s season at the Ligue 1 club, limiting him to just eight appearances in all competitions.

His debut was delayed until November due to a calf ailment, and he has been out for long periods of time due to a similar condition and muscle difficulties.

According to Le Parisien via Diario AS, PSG is now willing to let him depart in June if a club willing to pay his wage wants to sign him.

However, given the risk of his continued ailments, his wages could be a major stumbling block for many teams. Ramos’ intentions, however, look to be very different from the club’s, as he still feels he can compete at the highest level despite his problems during his first season in France.

‘I’d like to play at the top level for another four to five years and then live another adventure,’ the centre-back told Amazon Prime.

‘I have two years left at PSG, so we’ll aim for three and see what happens. I believe I can keep my mind concentrated as long as my physical condition allows.’

‘I’d rather play in the best team in the world than be the best individual because, at the end of the day, football is a team sport and winning as a team is what it’s all about.’

‘I prefer to compete in global championships and the Champions League before becoming the best in the world. And you’ll always need the help of the team for anything.’
