A Parisian club with an intense attacking line could not win a game in Belgium.
Mauricio confirmed Kylian’s injury
PSG coach Mauricio Pochettino spoke to the media after the Parisian team’s surprising draw in their Champions League debut against Bruges. When asked about the injury to Mbappé, who was substituted in the second half, the Argentine assured that he has a sprained ankle: “Mbappe has twisted his ankle, he already had problems in both ankles. We will see if tomorrow we can have more precise news”.
Regarding the team’s defensive problems today, especially with the Neymar-Mbappe-Messi trio, Pochettino did not want to give it more importance and added that he is happy with the defensive effort of the three attacking players: “For me it is not a problem. I am happy with the defensive effort of the attackers. We have to be stronger in other areas of play”. PSG have until September 28 to adjust defensively against Manchester City in a momentous match for the group lead. On Sunday, the Parisian team faces Lyon in the first serious test of the season in Ligue 1. It will almost certainly be without Mbappé, that today he retired from the pitch limping in the second half and the chances of seeing him play are tiny.
Brugge’s coach was not disappointed after the game
Bruges coach Philippe Clement said he was “proud” of the draw his players achieved against Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and said his team could even win if it had been somewhat more effective. It has lacked efficiency, I think. But it is normal, the three attackers are young players and they do not have the necessary experience” said Clement after the meeting on the RTL microphones.
Despite the good result, the Bruges coach, who aspires to qualify for the round of 16 in a group that also includes English Manchester City and German Leipzig, pointed out that Bruges still have “five finals” left in which they will have to “confirm” the good game played against PSG.
