Paris St-Germain have yet to decide if Lionel Messi will make his much-anticipated debut in Friday’s Ligue 1 game at Brest.

The six-time Ballon d’Or winner, 34, joined Paris Saint Germain on a free transfer last week after leaving Barcelona because of their financial difficulties. In PSG’s win against Strasbourg Messi, alongside other new signings were introduced to the fans where he received a warm welcome.

However, the 34-year-old is yet to play a game since winning the Copa America with Argentina – but is in full training with PSG. As it appears, the club is undecided on whether he should make his debut this coming Friday on a Ligue 1 match against Brest.

This is what coach Pochettino said. “We haven’t decided the squad yet. We will assess whether Messi can be a part of it”.

“Everything is positive. There is a good atmosphere in the squad and he has settled in well and quickly. There is a very good feeling.”

On the other hand, Paris Saint Germain supporters are yearning for Messi’s debut. The thought of the Greatest of All Times pairing with Neymar and Kylian Mbappe as the front-three is a burning sensation that awaits its explosion.

However, the case is different for Mbappe who was booed in the match against Strasbourg. Romors suggests that he could join Real Madrid before the end of this summer which is contrary to what the coach Pochettino thinks.

“Mbappe is our player and I want him to be here this season,” said Pochettino.

“He has another year left on his contract. Even if he doesn’t renew it, he is still a PSG player and we are very pleased with him, and from what I can understand he is pleased with us.

“He is very calm and preparing well for tomorrow’s game.”
