Paris Saint-Germain have contacted Real Madrid to enquire about the possible signing of Raphael Varane this summer.
After Ramos, Varane may leave
The French central defender looks increasingly unlikely to remain at the club this summer, as he has yet to agree on a new contract that will keep him at the Spanish capital beyond the end of his current deal, which expires in the summer of 2022.
With the growing belief amongst Real Madrid officials that Varane will leave this summer, Manchester United’s recent enquiry about the possibility of signing him has been replicated by PSG. Real Madrid have managed to secure David Alaba’s signature, while the main objective is to sign Kylian Mbappe.
However, Varane’s move would force the club to sign another central defender in his place, following the departure of Sergio Ramos and with the possibility of Eder Militao, David Alaba and Nacho Fernandez being the three experienced central defenders remaining.
Transfer fee for Raphael Varane
Should a move for Varane materialize, Real Madrid would be asking for a transfer fee of 50 million euros for the World Cup winner and key member of the France national side, in spite of the difficult season he endured last season.
Although PSG can count on Marquinhos and Presnel Kimpembe at the heart of their defense, Mauricio Pochettino has insisted on reinforcements to the backline and Varane would bea key signing in the club’s attempts to secure their first Champions League title. Raphael Varane may be the best solution for PSG in the defensive line. As of now, we see that Raphael is playing really well in the national team. Experts and fans criticized him for not playing well and losing motivation with Real Madrid. On the other side, we see that Raphael is full of motivation in the national team. It means that Raphael needs a switch of the team. PSG could be a perfect option for the defender.
