Against an impressive bowling display from Multan, Karachi Kings managed only 124 runs in the first innings. Sharjeel Khan played a vital 43-run knock for them, however, the other batsmen didn’t make a lot of contributions with the bat.

Babar Azam (23 off 29) looked scratchy throughout his innings, while Joe Clarke (26 off 24) failed to convert the start into a big score. Later M Nabi also struggled to hit the straps as he only managed 10 runs in 17 balls.

The bowlers tried their best and took the match till the 19th over. However, they couldn’t pick wickets regularly, and, as a result of that, Multan Sultans chased down the score in 18.2 overs with 7 wickets in hand. M Nabi was the only bowler who looked lethal with the ball. He picked 2 for 17 in 3.2 overs. However, the other bowlers had disappointing outings.

Facing them are Quetta Gladiators, who lost their first game at the hands of Peshawar Zalmi. The Gladiators managed to score 190 runs in the first innings after batting first. Ahsan Ali and Will Smeed played two fantastic knocks as they scored 73 and 97 respectively.

The duo put on a 155-run partnership for the opening wicket and helped them reach post a formidable score of 190 runs for the opening wicket. However, despite that, they lost the game as the Zalmi chased down the score in 19.4 overs.

All the bowlers beside Naseem Shah went for over 9 runs an over. They failed to put the balls in the right areas and created pressure for a longer period. Naseem Shah bowled well as he picked 1 for 19 in 3.4 overs. M Nawaz picked three wickets but also went for 44 runs in his 4 overs.
