PSL 2022, Match 12, Islamabad United vs Lahore Qalandars Preview

The 12th match of PSL 2022 will have Islamabad United take on Lahore Qalandars at National Stadium in Karachi.

After losing their second game, Islamabad United got back to winnings ways as they registered a 43-run win over Quetta Gladiators in what was their second win of the season.

Islamabad United batted first in that game and notched a mammoth score of 229 runs in the first innings. Sterling made 58 runs in 28 deliveries, while Hales contributed 22 runs in 9 balls.

Later, Colin Munro and Azam put an exhibition of sixes. Munro smashed 72 runs in 39 balls, while Azam Khan scored 65 runs in 35 balls, a knock which was laced with 2 fours and 6 sixes. They restricted Quetta Gladiators to 186 runs in the second innings. Shadab Khan ran through their batting unit as he picked five wickets for just 28 runs in 4 overs. Hasan Ali and Wasim Jr. too picked two wickets each.

Facing them are Lahore Qalandars, who too are coming off a win. Lahore Qalandars batted first and managed to score 199 runs in the first innings. Fakhar Zaman scored 66 runs in 38 balls, while Shafique scored 41 runs in 31 deliveries. Kamran Ghulam also chipped in with 30 runs in 23 balls.

M Hafeez scored an unbeaten knock of 37 runs in 19 deliveries, while Rashid Khan smashed an unbeaten 8-ball 22. As a result of all those contributions, Lahore Qalandars managed to score 199 runs in the first innings. In reply, Peshawar Zalmi were restricted to 170 runs, thereby winning the game by 29 runs.

Zaman Khan was the pick of the bowlers as he picked 3 wickets for 32 runs in 4 overs. Besides, Shaheen Afridi and David Wiese also picked two wickets each.
