Following the conclusion of their Europa League match, PSV supporters sparked pandemonium by tearing out seats and throwing flares at Arsenal supporters.

At the Emirates Stadium, Granit Xhaka’s volley in the second half gave the Gunners the victory over the Dutch team.

The victory guaranteed the Gunners’ progress to the next stage of the European competition. If they score a point in Holland the following week, they will finish first in their group.

After seats and other objects were thrown between the home and away supporters, riot police tried to diffuse the situation, overshadowing Mikel Arteta’s team’s eighth straight victory in all competitions.

Just minutes after the final whistle, PSV supporters launched a flare into the home crowd, making the situation even worse.

UEFA will now look into the event and may impose a fine on Ruud Van Nistelrooy’s team for their behavior.

For the second time ever, Arsenal has won its first four Europa League games. They will now travel to PSV for the return match the following week, needing just one point to win the group.

The group winners will guarantee their spot in the competition’s round of 16, avoiding a play-off match against those exiting the Champions League.

According to Arteta, “We had extremely nice moments and were really dominant against a really good side.”

We simply lacked the decisive pass or shot, in my opinion. However, we’re thrilled to have won the match and qualified, which is the first step.

“In Europe, you have to manage your adversary.” They have an unbelievable amount of goals scored, are incredibly talented, and are accustomed to winning. We were really collected and responsible.

“When the opportunity arises in Europe, you must seize it.” Since there is a significant difference between first and second place, we wish to complete the task.
