‘Of course, I will’ – Quique Setien rules out leaving Barcelona
For Quique Setien, the question about his future is inappropriate. The Barcelona coach is confident he will stay at his position and rules out leaving Barcelona.
Quique Setien has no doubt that he will be the head coach of Barcelona next season as well.
“Of course, I see myself as the coach of Barça next season,” the 61-year-old specialist said at the news conference held today.
As you may know, Quique Sétien took over the Catalan giants in January and has a contract until 2022, but has been under constant criticism lately. The reason is that after the restart of the season, Barcelona wasted the lead over Real Madrid and have almost lost the Spanish championship. Zinedine Zidane’s team can win the championship on Thursday, winning the 37th round match against Villarreal.
“Of course, I feel responsible, but it’s not all my fault. “Everything is always blamed on the coach. But I do not think the coach worked so badly,” Setien added.
After the season renewal, Barcelona won 6 of 9 matches and played three draws. Real managed to win all nine games, took 27 points and is 4 points ahead of Barcelona 2 rounds before the end of the season.
