Ashwin admitted that it was a difficult question to answer immediately after the WTC Final, but he emphasized his eagerness to play given his contribution to the team’s journey to the final. He cited his performance in the previous final, where he took four wickets and bowled exceptionally well.
Responding to questions regarding his overseas performances, Ashwin defended his record since the 2018-19 season, describing it as “fantastic.”

Ashwin noted that for a spinner to be effective, it usually requires the fourth innings of the match, which is a crucial phase. However, in order for the spinner to come into play, the team needs to put up a substantial total, making it a matter of mindset.
